hey dear ones!

I hope all of you are doing well and continually pursuing the Lord's glory in your lives - even as mundane or mixed up as they may seem at times.

I was reading Mark about the lady who broke her precious alabaster container over Christ's head. The religious poeple around were lamenting that it hadn't been used for the poor. We all know that Christ cares and loves the poor and we are too - but don't expend your precious talents seeking to serve them and love them - spend it on the Lord and all that will fall into place. Sometimes, I get all worked up about finding a way to use my life to serve the broken - but it's far more important that I use my life to serve the Lord - even if it means being a secretary, that is better if it Brings Him Glory than running off to Ghana or something (even though I hope to do that one day ;-] )

Spend your precious things on HIM my dear girls.

hey girls,
pray for a G2er who's boyfriend suddenly died over the Christmas break. He was an LU student too and they were quite serious...but even if they weren't we know that even just the loss of a friend is a terrible thing to bear. But now, she faces a much different future than one she thought or planned for or desired. So pray for her and also for his family.

I am leaving the state of Missouri next month. I am going to NE. I am looking foward to moving near Jen. I think it is going to be fun. I am transfering schools to attend University of Nebraska at Kearney. I am just waiting on official word from them. I am so excited.

Things are definately looking up for me.

life just got turned upside down this week for me. I am not going to get into specifics but I need prayer to be able to get over this guy who professed to love me. Some of you know who he is. But he cheated on me twice in the past 6 months and have 2 different girls pregnant. He has been lying to me for a long time and it didnt bother him. he said he really had strong feelings for me but he lost them. I dont see how someone could lose strong feelings like that. He even gave me a promise ring. But that all went down the drain. I just cant lose feelings like that for someone. I am glad to find this stuff out now before it got any more serious. Now I cant really trust any guys in a relationship setting. the guy that i had come to care for last year is not the guy that he now. he has changed into a person that i dont like. he is trying to blame everything on me when he made those decisions not me.

I am planning on moving at the end of this semester. I dont like the school here. I stayed due to this guy. But now thats over i am gone. I need wisdom to figure out where i need to go and what I need to do. I am looking at moving to Kearney, NE and go to school there. They have what looks like to be a neat Masters program and it will be neat to be close to jen :)

also, i wonder if I missed having a chance with an certain guy some of u know who he is. he stopped talking to me when this stupid dude and i started dating. I hope I can talk to him soon. I miss talking to him.

Dan just got home from the hospital today. He is doing much better...but both of us will be out for a while. The doctor said i won't be able to go back at work for at least 6 weeks, and Dan till end of December.

It turns out that the people do have insurance, but it will be a while until everything is settled. Dan was in the hospital for almost 3 weeks, and I was in for 1. He had to have pins put in his arm and in his leg. He has to have both physical and occupational therapy for a long time. I can't laugh, talk loudly, or walk very fast...so there goes everything that I am :) Having all your ribs on one side broken will do that to you.

i hate to take away from the excitement of Sarah's engagement, but i have some tough news to report. i learned tonight that former G2 RA Ester Belche Anderson and her husband Dan were seriously injured when a drunk (with no insurance) crashed into their car a few weeks ago.

the drunk hit the driver side of their car, but Ester (sitting in the passenger seat) broke all of her left ribs. needless to say, Dan had lots of compact fractures and needed reconstructive surgery.

i'm sure they would appreciate our prayer...

I hope all of you are doing good. I've made a little head-way on our site. Check it out. Right now there is only a picture gallery, but if you sign up to be a user, you can upload as many pictures as you want onto it. So feel free to start doing that!! Also, if anyone has ideas for the page or wants to start crank'en out some code, that's great! But if not, I'll begin to do some stuff on it. Missing my G2 sisters

As I was cleaning up around my apartment, I found some pictures from my time at LU. I miss those years. Sometimes I wish I could go back but I know I cant. I think we should have a G2 renuion one day. We should meet up in the center of the US and catch up. I have wonderful memories from my time there. I am also sure many others do too. I cant put into words what I am thinking about. But I miss all of you. email me sometime.

Changes

A lot has happened for me(sarah r) since leaving LU just over a year ago. I am now leaving in the semi great state of Missouri specifically in springfield attending Southwest Missouri State University (as of 9-28-05 it will be Missouri State University). My goals in life are beginning to change. Becoming a professor is slowly becoming what I want to do. I know that is a shock but people who do not even know me that well say I will be a good teacher. (Yes Jen I am finally listening to you). But at the same time I still want to be a lawyer. Since going to Southeast Asia a couple of summers ago, I have desired to go back there and teach American history. When I begin to finish up here, I am going to look at teaching in a college in that area.

In other news, I am having the opportunity to witness to the people I work nights with. We spend hours discussing God and religion and Christianity. I hope I am planting seeds in their minds that will one day be used by others to see that they need Christ in their lives.

I am really curious and excited to see how God is using G2ers around the world!!!

Where are all of you girls? I know that many of us have scattered about the country (and the world) upon leaving LU. And I think it would be nifty to hear what you all are up to. So comment liberally!

As for me (becky), I'm headed to the Rocky Mountain State (CO) to work for Lockheed Martin Space Systems. The job is a huge blessing, and I look forward to starting in about a month. As for what I'll do specifically? Well, if I told you, I'd have to kill you ; ).
